Robert N. (Bob) Garrett started Coastline Engineering & Construction, Inc. in July 2009. Bob had previously served as Construction Manager for Carr Engineering & Construction, Inc. When the owners decided to retire Bob purchased the business and changed the name to Coastline Engineering & Construction, Inc. Bob has over 35 years experience in the construction industry starting out in his family’s construction company performing residential projects. Bob has since served as Project Manager over multi-million dollar apartment complexes, multi story office buildings, runway repairs to military bases, built a new post office and numerous other commercial projects. Bob uses his knowledge of the construction industry to supply our engineers with proven methods and material s to use in our engineered designs that help to make our design user friendly. Bob has over 7 years experience with the condominiums along the Gulf Coast performing concrete restoration and waterproofing projects.
Derek O. Gardner, P. E., LSIT

Derek O. Gardner, P.E. joined Coastline Engineering & Construction, Inc. in January of 2012. Derek is a Registered Professional Engineer in both New York and Florida. Derek started out at an early age helping his father in the family surveying business and gradually gravitated to civil and structural engineering. Thru his career in engineering, Derek has provided technical oversight and coordination of multi-million dollar multi-phase development, renovations and improvement projects to include planning, design, and construction overview of commercial, retail, residential and recreational projects. Derek has designed and overseen construction of master planned communities which included storm water infrastructure, multiple lift stations, roadway infrastructure and bridges, commercial/retail buildings and residential homes. Recent Duties at Coastline Engineering and Construction include structural calculation of Residential/Commercial/Retail Facilities, creations of detailed drawings, structural design, wind loading analysis, foundation design, structural inspection, quality control on construction oversight projects, reports and government forms/certification.
